My new kitten
My new kitten is getting better and better. I am so happy. It frightened me a lot the first few days. The little kitten was having a fever, its eyes were closed by pus and its eyelids were bloated. Its tail was all in blood and pus. And it was breathing very hard.
It was spending all time sleeping near the heater.
I got pissed by the local vets. They were somewhat rude and their ideas for treatment were frightening. I know a very good veterinarian, but she works in another town. I am very thankful that she helped us after all.
Finally the kitten is getting better. Its eyes are perfectly fine, it is breathing well, eats and plays a lot like any little kitten. Only its tail needs more treatment, but it will be fine.
Now I think for a name, good for a cute tabby female kitten with short and funny tail. A little like bobtail. Maybe Risa?

New kitten
I got new kitten two days ago. Just a small, sweet, gray, tabby cat girl. She is something like 3 months old. Her tail is torn on the middle and the other part is full of pus wounds. Her eyes have problems and she have a big gathering on her upper lip. I am not a pro in cat medicine terms, I hope I said it right.
Maybe the kitten was injured by a car engine.
We had a consultation with a vet(two different vets) and now the kitten is treated with medicines.

Cat recipes or is it so hard to make balanced diet for a cat?
This is a rather popular scam from the commercial cat food producers. I'll try to describe it here.
Many people feel that it is not right their cat to eat only commercial cat food. Really, sometimes there are pet food recalls or just kidney problems or etc. We know for us- humans that we need to eat various different food to be healthy. So why is so different for cats? Cat manufacturers says - your cat needs only our food for all of its life - see we have food for kittens, food for adults, food for ill cats and so on. And all of them contain all the daily needs of your cat. But is it really true?
Does the science/cat food manufacturer/vet know - what are exactly the daily needs for a cat? There are many health problems related to food. Every two - three years science found new, necessary ingredient for cat foods. And there are mass pet food recalls.
So I think that feeding a cat with commercial cat food is frightening. Many people like me think this way. And here is the catch. People don't just start feeding their cat anything, they search internet and ask their vets - how is the right way to feed my cat?
The answer is a complex table of vitamins, minerals, etc and of course a list of products that contain them and dosages. And all of it counted for a daily need. I won't argue if this numbers are correct or not, and are they even valid for every cat.
But the fact is there, cat owners need to make complex recipes to achieve the daily cat needs, sometimes so complex, that the cat just doesn't want to look at the end creation. (Somewhat disgusting)
But here is my question. Are you yourself eating the same values for your food every day? Are you taking the daily dosages of anything every day? Why does the cat need the same food in exact numbers day after day? Is it really ok?
What is a cat food recipe? Nothing, just a scam. Cats need variety of foods just like people. The only difference is that they need mostly variety of meets with very few supplements?
And here is the simple solution, if you calculate the values of food ingredients for a month it will be a lot more easily to make a healthy diet for a cat. And the cat won't need to eat a strange mixture. For example - my cats love roasted chicken without anything else on it. Why do I need to add anything to a just cooked chicken?
Maybe I am wrong. I am not a vet. This is just my opinion. I'll be happy to see a discussion.

Boiled eggs
Do you know that boiled eggs can be a healthy supplement to your cat's diet. Just don't forget not to give them too often, 1 egg once or twice a week is pretty enough. Given more often boiled eggs can cause some problems.
Raw eggs are not good for cats (like for us) because they can be source of Salmonellosis. If they are cooked, there is no harm. Recently there was recall for some pet vitamins because of Salmonellosis so don't consider that giving a pet food all the time will be safe enough. Of course there are some premium pet food with responsible manufacturers to rely on. I have my favorite brand cat food but I think that the best cat diet must include both home made and commercial cat food.

Can cats drink cow milk?
This is a quite famous question. All of us have seen kids movies where a cat drinks milk from a bowl with the cat's name. And this image is so popular that if you ask a kid what should a cat eat it will answer - milk.
The answer of this question is a little more complex. Some experts say that people should not give their cats milk because the cow milk can make them sick and give them diarrhea. This is caused by the so called lactose intolerance. You can learn more about it from wikipedia's article about milk.
My opinion is on the other side. I think that cow's milk acts the same way for humans and for cats. If I drink too much real cow milk I'll have the same symptoms, but I love to drink only one cup per day. And I give to my cats milk from time to time. I am not sure if this is good or bad, they don't show any signs of illness after drinking it. And some of them really love milk. Of course I am careful with kittens or ill cat but till now I haven't got any problems related to milk.
This is only my opinion, I am not an expert. For health and nutrition problems people should consult mainly their vets.
Edit: I found some old pictures of my cats drinking milk. They are sweet!

Broken kitten
I've just found kitten with broken leg and maybe broken ribs. It is the forth kitten for 2 weeks for me. My parents are going crazy but what can I do?
The kitten is about 6 months old, gray and white tiger. It cried from pain, some kids were hugging and squeezing it, but now it looks a little better. I'll take some photos later.

New kitten found
Yep, yesterday I found new little ugly kitten. And now I am going crazy arghhhhhh. This one month old toy is running around, fighting my clothes and my other cats and eating cables. She is ugly, dark, small and tiny, and she wants to fight everything everywhere. I wonder how to find new owners to this little beast ...
We found her near one of the biggest streets of the town, trying to play with passing people. I haven't decided on a name yet. Maybe Chi?

Home made cat food
There are many opinions about what is the correct way to feed a cat. Of course almost all of them are opposite to each other. I don’t claim that what I do is perfect for my cats. How to feed your cat is your own decision. I only can share some of my experience. The main thing to remember regardless the type of food that you feed your cat is that cats are predators. Naturally they eat meat. Most of the time outdoor cats eat whole mice or small birds.
It is very important to insure a variety of foods for your cat. Feeding with one food over and over again can lead to harmful deficiencies of certain essential vitamins.
In other hand it is good to know, what are the foods inappropriate for cats.
Foods to avoid:
Also don’t use spice when making pet foods. All kind of spices are unfit or even harmful for cats. Keep in mind that home made food needs to be kept in a refrigerator.
My cats love roasted or boiled chicken meat. Also they love boiled eggs and sometimes the even eat raw vegetables. Be careful when using chicken meat with bones, kittens under the age of 6-8 months can’t handle the bones. Roasted fish is a valuable delicacy but no more than twice a week. The meat can be cooked together with some rice and vegetables. Cats are not humans, they don’t need complex recipes.
One other way for feeding cats is the raw diet - BARF. I haven’t tried it and I am not sure if it is good for the cat health. If you want to know more about it I recommend starting from Wikipedia - Barf Diet.

Cat anime and manga series: Chi's sweet home
The story is about a gray and white little kitten. It wanders away from its mother and got lost. It was found from a small boy and his mother.
The anime episodes are 3 minutes each and there would be 12 episodes. The manga is still ongoing. (Nyaaa)

Playing with your cat
Playing is something very important for in-door cats. They need a lot of exercises to compensate for living between four walls. Cats who don't run and play enough become fat and are predisposed to health problems. So ... how much time to spend playing with my cat? It depends on their personality and on some other factors. If cat lives with other cats it will be more likely to prefer playing with them not with a human. If it is that sort of a situation you won't have much work - just sit quietly and laugh. But if your cat is the only pet - it is time for a hard work. Throwing a small ball or dragging a toy around. And if your cat is already fat and lazy it will be very tiering. But don't give up so easy. After a week or too of fruitless jumping and crying your cat will pity you and will start to play!
Be careful and don't give a cat thread because it can be swallowed and can cause deadly problems. Cat toys and small balls are the best choice.
